U.S. Senator Roger Marshall from Kansas appeared on The Charlie Kirk Show to discuss several pressing issues, including President Donald Trump's proposed 'One Big, Beautiful Bill', the reconsideration of State and Local Tax (SALT) deductions, and the findings of the Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) Commission report.

During the interview, Senator Marshall elaborated on the Senate's role in refining the bill passed by the House. He stated, "President Trump is the best closer in the country. Mike Johnson gave us the best bill that he could get passed over there. Think of the Senate as like a saucer and think of the House as a hot cup of coffee, and it’s spilling over. The job of the Senate is to take that bill and make it better."

Marshall emphasized potential areas for improvement within the bill, particularly concerning taxpayer savings and spending cuts. He mentioned SALT taxes as a focal point: "In these big blue states, they have high taxes, and they’re able to deduct that from their federal taxes… What else could we do with that $300 billion? We could deliver the president’s Golden Dome, that would be one simple thing, and more."

The senator also highlighted specific elements within Trump's proposal aimed at tax relief and security measures. "What we did with Social Security since, by law, we cannot touch Social Security... We increased the Child Tax Credit," he explained.

Furthermore, Marshall discussed components related to national defense and immigration control included in Trump's plan: "The Golden Dome is in here... Huge pay raises for our troops... We have significant money in here to take care of the military for four years."

On another note, Senator Marshall addressed health concerns raised by the MAHA Commission report. He pointed out that "60% of Americans have a chronic disease," often linked to nutrition or toxins. He stressed soil health and nutrient quality as crucial factors affecting public health.

Marshall called for unbiased scientific research on dietary fats: "We need gold-standard research, not influenced by commercial operations." Additionally, he noted that "50-60% of Americans are on a prescription drug right now," indicating an area needing further investigation.
