On Monday, U.S. Senator Roger Marshall from Kansas collaborated with the Trump Administration to announce a new initiative aimed at enhancing Medicare Advantage. The announcement was made alongside Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz.
The focus of this initiative is on six specific pillars designed to improve patient outcomes while reducing administrative burdens within Medicare Advantage plans. Senator Marshall expressed his gratitude towards the administration's support for his legislation, known as the Improving Seniors’ Timely Access to Care Act.
“I am grateful for the Trump Administration’s support of my legislation, the Improving Seniors’ Timely Access to Care Act, which will greatly benefit the speed and quality of care that our Seniors rely upon,” stated Senator Marshall. He further added his commitment to supporting efforts that aim to streamline prior authorization processes and eliminate unnecessary regulations affecting patient-doctor interactions.
The six pillars reflect shared goals between Senator Marshall's proposed act and the Trump Administration's healthcare strategy, emphasizing efficiency in healthcare delivery for seniors.
