U.S. Senator Roger Marshall of Kansas appeared on Newsmax's The Briefing with Ed Henry to discuss several pressing issues, including the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel and the reconciliation package currently being debated in the Senate.
During his appearance, Senator Marshall addressed reports on CNN regarding recent U.S. military actions in Iran. He expressed skepticism about the network's coverage, stating, "I think it’s more lies from fake news. But you know, the proof will be in the pudding, and we’ll see what the pictures are in a week or two." He emphasized confidence in the U.S. Air Force's operations.
Senator Marshall also spoke about former President Donald Trump's approach to international diplomacy, referring to him as a 'Peace President.' He praised Trump's transparency and negotiation skills: "President Trump is the most transparent President in history...He wants peace. He cares about the Iranian people who have been tortured and murdered by their government for decades as well."
Addressing criticism from Democrats regarding foreign precision strikes, Marshall highlighted what he sees as hypocrisy among critics: "The President has a constitutional duty to protect this nation...Iran was one week away from having a nuclear warhead." He noted that similar actions were taken by past presidents such as Obama and Clinton.
Regarding domestic policy, Senator Marshall outlined key elements of the reconciliation package under consideration. He described it as essential for preventing significant tax increases on middle-income families and providing necessary funding for border security and military pay raises. Additionally, he mentioned provisions like defunding Planned Parenthood and increasing Child Tax Credits: "It’s going to be a rising tide that floats all boats."
