On Tuesday, U.S. Senator Roger Marshall marked the third anniversary of the United States Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade with a video message. The Dobbs decision, which restored states' ability to legislate on abortion, is celebrated by Senator Marshall as a significant shift towards allowing states to defend life according to their values.

In his statement, Senator Marshall highlighted an upcoming Senate vote on a reconciliation bill that he described as delivering substantial pro-life gains since the Dobbs decision. The proposed legislation would enforce a 10-year ban on federal Medicaid funding for abortion providers receiving over $800,000 in taxpayer dollars annually. Planned Parenthood is identified as the main target of this prohibition due to its receipt of $2 million daily in taxpayer funding and performance of approximately 400,000 abortions each year.

Senator Marshall praised former President Trump's leadership and judicial appointments that led to the Dobbs decision. He emphasized his personal commitment to protecting life from his experiences as an OBGYN who delivered over 5,000 babies.

He noted the expansion of crisis pregnancy centers and state laws safeguarding unborn children since the Dobbs ruling. The reconciliation bill currently under consideration represents what he calls "the most significant pro-life victory" post-Dobbs.

Marshall concluded by reiterating his dedication to advancing pro-life measures both at the Supreme Court steps and Capitol Hill.
