U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, M.D. (R-Kansas), toured several sites in Topeka this week to meet with local leaders and observe small businesses and organizations supporting the community.

His visit included a stop at the Kansas Medical Center Clinic, which is recognized as the first facility in Kansas to implement Gentle Cure.

At the Topeka Airport Authority, Senator Marshall met with Molly Howey, the new CEO of Go Topeka. Their discussion focused on potential developments for the regional airport and broader efforts to grow aviation in Kansas.

Senator Marshall also visited Washburn Rural North Middle School. During his time there, he walked through the new school’s halls and talked with staff about preparations for students returning this month.

While in Topeka, Senator Marshall spoke at the Breastfeeding Conference. Drawing on his experience as an OBGYN for 25 years, he addressed quality maternity care and described his ongoing advocacy for rural hospitals and community health centers. “He is advocating for strong rural hospitals and community health centers,” according to remarks made at the event.

The final stop was at Topeka’s Diaper Depot, a program under the Community Action Organization that helps families manage diaper expenses.
