Rep. Sharice Davids, who has represented Kansas’s 3rd District in the U.S. Congress since 2019, recently shared updates on her work and advocacy through a series of posts on social media.

On August 6, 2025, Davids highlighted her experience volunteering at a local medical center: "Had a great time working a Sharice’s Shift as a Patient Greeter with Rachel and the incredible @KUMedCenter team! When Kansans of all abilities have the chance to work and give back, our whole community is stronger."

The following day, August 7, she addressed progress regarding staffing shortages at a federal agency: "GOOD NEWS: After months of pushing for answers, we're finally seeing action to fix dangerous staffing shortages at the National Weather Service. Kansans spoke up — and we’re getting results to keep families, farmers, and first responders safe."

Later that same day, Davids turned attention to healthcare access in rural communities: "Rural hospitals are lifelines — and reckless Medicaid cuts put them at risk. When a hospital shuts down, everyone loses access to care. I’m working to protect Kansas hospitals and the families who rely on them."

Sharice Davids has served in Congress since succeeding Kevin Yoder in 2019. She was born in Frankfurt, West Germany in 1980 and currently resides in Roeland Park. Davids holds degrees from the University of Missouri-Kansas City (BA) and Cornell University (JD).
