U.S. Representative Sharice Davids, who has served Kansas’s 3rd District since 2019, recently shared a series of posts highlighting her involvement in community efforts to improve food access and address food insecurity.
On August 9, Davids visited Johnson County government offices to discuss the impact of healthy food access on local families and the economy. She wrote, "Stopped by @jocogov to hear how improving access to healthy food strengthens our economy and keeps families strong." (August 9, 2025).
Later that day, she posted about a personal achievement at a local event: "I don’t mean to brag, but I really knocked this one out of the park. (Okay, it was a triple — but pretty close!)" (August 9, 2025).
The following day, Davids addressed concerns over student hunger and recent changes to food assistance programs. She stated, "No student should have to learn on an empty stomach. Proud to stand with @Harvestersorg to fight food insecurity — especially as recent cuts to food programs put more Kansas kids at risk." (August 10, 2025).
Sharice Davids replaced Kevin Yoder in Congress in 2019 and currently resides in Roeland Park. Born in Frankfurt, West Germany in 1980, she holds degrees from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and Cornell University.
