U.S. Representative Sharice Davids, who has represented Kansas’s 3rd District since 2019, shared updates on her recent efforts to support community resources and services in a series of posts on August 12, 2025.
In her first post of the day, Davids highlighted the role of local libraries in fostering community connections: "Public spaces like the Louisburg Library are bringing folks together every day. I’m working to ensure they have the resources to keep serving the community for generations to come." (August 12, 2025).
Later that afternoon, she visited Paola and commented on affordable housing initiatives: "In Paola, I saw firsthand the incredible work @myfathershouse is doing to provide housing for Kansans in need. I’m working to lower costs for homeowners and keep housing affordable and accessible for our communities." (August 12, 2025).
That evening, Davids addressed improvements in public safety communications: "After I pressed the administration to reverse course, @POTUS agreed to fill key National Weather Service positions — helping ensure faster, more accurate updates to keep Kansans safe." (August 12, 2025).
Sharice Davids began her tenure in Congress after replacing Kevin Yoder in 2019. She was born in Frankfurt, West Germany in 1980 and currently resides in Roeland Park. Davids holds a BA from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and a JD from Cornell University.
