Rep. Sharice Davids, who has represented Kansas’ 3rd district in the U.S. Congress since 2019, recently highlighted local initiatives and organizations in a series of posts on social media.
On August 15, Davids wrote about her support for local libraries: "Turner Community Library in KCK is building a welcoming space for all. I’m working to ensure libraries like this continue to serve #KS03 families."
The following day, she visited a manufacturing facility in De Soto, Kansas. On August 16, Davids posted: "Huhtamaki is creating sustainable products we use every day — and good-paying manufacturing jobs — right here in #KS03. Great to tour their De Soto facility and meet the hardworking team making it happen."
On August 17, Davids recognized the work of Sunflower House, an advocacy center focused on child welfare. She stated: "As Kansas’ first children’s advocacy center, @sunflower_house works tirelessly to prevent and respond to child abuse. Thanks for supporting our kids!"
Sharice Davids was born in Frankfurt, West Germany in 1980 and currently resides in Roeland Park. She holds a BA from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and a JD from Cornell University.
