Rep. Sharice Davids, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Kansas’s 3rd district since 2019, recently addressed key legislative topics and community issues in a series of posts on social media.

On August 23, 2025, Davids highlighted her conversation with KCUR about federal legislation and its local impacts, stating, "I sat down with @KCUR to talk about the impacts of current legislation in DC, what it means for our communities, and how I'm working to support Kansas families."

Later that day, she voiced support for federal employees and criticized recent government efficiency measures targeting public sector workers: "I'm all for making government more efficient, but DOGE going after the workers who provide services we rely on every day is not the solution. Proud to support @NTEU66 and the local federal employees they represent." This statement referenced ongoing debates about restructuring within federal agencies.

On August 24, Davids reflected on the anniversary of landmark civil rights legislation: "On this day in 1965, the Voting Rights Act ensured all Americans, regardless of race or background, would be protected from voter suppression — but there's more work to do. It's past time to pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Act." Her comments come amid national discussions about voting rights protections.

Davids was born in Frankfurt, West Germany in 1980 and currently resides in Roeland Park. She holds a BA from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and a JD from Cornell University. She succeeded Kevin Yoder as representative for Kansas’s 3rd district beginning in 2019.
