U.S. Representative Sharice Davids, who represents Kansas’ 3rd district in Congress, shared a series of updates on social media highlighting community events and personal reflections between August 26 and August 27, 2025.

On August 26, Davids addressed the loss of a local law enforcement officer, writing, "I'm heartbroken to hear about the Kansas City Police Officer lost in the line of duty this morning. As we learn more over the coming days, I hope the KC community will join me in keeping his family in my thoughts."

Later that day, she posted about her visit to a local business: "Next stop of the day — lunch at Buffalo State Pizza before hearing from local business owners in Downtown OP! It's always a great day to support Kansas businesses."

The following afternoon, Davids reflected on her background and commitment to education initiatives: "As a Kansas public school grad and first in my family to finish college, I know education opens doors. That’s why I’m working to expand early learning, apprenticeships, tech training, and STEM — so every Kansan can build a secure future."

Sharice Davids has represented Kansas’s 3rd District since 2019 after succeeding Kevin Yoder. She was born in Frankfurt, West Germany in 1980 and currently resides in Roeland Park. Davids graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City with a BA in 2007 and earned her JD from Cornell University in 2010.
