Johnson County Developmental Supports hosting virtual job interviews Sept. 20

Johnson County Developmental Supports is hosting virtual job interviews Tuesday, Sept. 20 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. for job seekers interested in joining its team as direct support professionals.

Experience is preferred but not required for these positions. JCDS offers on-the-job training for new hires in addition to ongoing training and continuing education.

JCDS currently has multiple openings in the following programs:

  • Residential (evening, overnight and weekend shifts)
  • Day Services (first shift – evening/weekend hours may occasionally be required)
Prior to attending the virtual interview, job seekers should:

  • RSVP for the event AND
  • Complete an online application

DSPs play a crucial role in supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their quest to live and work in the community, rather than in institutional settings.

Depending on where they work, DSPs perform a multitude of tasks, including personal care, job coaching, appropriate medical/physical care, behavioral guidance, skills teaching, help with household tasks and so much more.
