U.S. Senator Roger Marshall appeared on RFD-TV to discuss the current challenges faced by American farmers and ranchers, including trade agreements and tariffs imposed by former President Donald Trump. During the interview, Senator Marshall addressed various issues affecting the agricultural sector.

Discussing the difficulties farmers encounter, Senator Marshall noted, "I don’t have to tell your listeners that we had a record drop in net farm income that was basically due to high interest rates and high input costs." He emphasized concerns about mental health among farmers and regulatory challenges.

On trade agreements, he expressed gratitude for past deals under President Trump, stating, "We got to talk about trade. And certainly, we’re grateful for the past trade agreements." He criticized Joe Biden for not initiating new trade agreements during his presidency.

Regarding tariffs on Mexico and Canada, Senator Marshall remarked, "This is a drug war and not a trade war," highlighting concerns over fentanyl poisoning. He mentioned Trump's efforts with China and Canada to curb drug precursor production.

Senator Marshall also discussed potential retaliatory tariffs from China. He stated that dealing with China is challenging due to their practices of intellectual property theft and unfair trade tactics. "They’re no longer a developing nation," he asserted.

Finally, he voiced confidence in President Trump's ability to support American agriculture: "At the end of the day, I have faith in President Trump that he’s going to take care of the American farmer and rancher."
