From Brown v. Board to the Buffalo Soldiers, Black leaders have shaped our state and nation." She emphasized honoring their legacies during Black History Month while recommitting to a more equitable future.

Later that day, she expressed gratitude for receiving an award from Community Care KS via Twitter: "It was an honor to be presented with the @CommunityCareKS Health Champion Award! I’ll keep working with them to ensure all Kansans have access to quality, affordable health care."
