This request is aimed at securing public assistance funding necessary for repairing and rebuilding infrastructure following severe weather events that swept through Kansas in March 2025.

The appeal, also endorsed by U.S. Senator Jerry Moran and U.S. Representatives Tracey Mann, Ron Estes, and Derek Schmidt, highlights the urgent need for federal support after the region was struck by two significant cyclone storm systems between March 14 and 19. According to the National Weather Service, these storms brought extreme winds, blizzards, low humidity, and blowing dust, with pressure readings nearing those of a category 1 hurricane.
