Sharice Davids, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Kansas' 3rd district since 2019, recently addressed issues affecting small business owners and heritage sites in her state through a series of tweets. Davids, who was born in Frankfurt, West Germany in 1980 and resides in Roeland Park, holds degrees from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and Cornell University.

On June 16, 2025, Davids highlighted concerns about the impact of tariffs on small businesses. She stated that "66% of small business owners say they’ve been hit — or expect to be — by Trump’s reckless tariffs." She emphasized the need for leadership focused on reducing costs for entrepreneurs and hardworking Kansans.

Later that day, Davids addressed federal support for National Heritage Areas such as Quindaro and Brown v. Board. She noted that although approval was granted months ago, communities are still awaiting assistance. According to her tweet "These sites protect our history and boost tourism and local economies." Davids mentioned collaboration with Rep. Cleaver to urge action from President Biden.

Davids also provided a link for further information regarding their letter urging federal support for these heritage areas here.
