Sharice Davids, U.S. Congresswoman representing Kansas’s 3rd district since 2019, recently shared a series of policy updates and concerns on her social media accounts.

On July 16, 2025, Davids announced new federal resources for public safety in anticipation of the upcoming World Cup: "Just announced: New federal funding is headed our way to boost public safety ahead of next year’s World Cup! https://t.co/YKhmLPRy8N".

The following day, she addressed child care affordability and legislative efforts: "I was raised by a single mom, so I know affordable child care isn’t a luxury — it’s a lifeline. That’s why I just introduced a bill to cap costs, expand Pre-K, and raise wages for child care workers." This statement highlights her personal connection to the issue and outlines proposed measures targeting cost control and workforce support in early childhood education.

Later on July 17, Davids expressed concern about changes to crisis support services for LGBTQ+ youth: "The 988 LGBTQ+ crisis line saves lives — especially for LGBTQ+ youth, who are far more likely to experience suicidal thoughts. @POTUS shutting it down is plain cruel. I brought together a bipartisan group of leaders today to say: our young people deserve support, not silence. https://t.co/lnOuHQF0nT"

Davids has represented Kansas's 3rd District since defeating Kevin Yoder in the 2018 election cycle. Born in Frankfurt, West Germany in 1980 and currently residing in Roeland Park at age 42, she holds degrees from the University of Missouri-Kansas City (BA) and Cornell University (JD).
