Washington, D.C. - U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, M.D. joined Washington Watch with Tony Perkins to discuss the pressing issue of the southern border and the threat that President Joe Biden poses to American democracy.
During the interview, Senator Marshall expressed his concern about President Biden's failure to secure the southern border and highlighted the alarming number of immigrants being paroled into the country. He stated, "We are seeing that the main issue is parole. Let me talk about parole just for a second - President Obama paroled 5,000 people per year, Joe Biden is paroling 700,000 people per year. It's his get out of jail free card, that even though you're not qualified to come into this country, I'm just going to ignore the law."
Senator Marshall emphasized that securing the southern border should be the top priority for America. He criticized President Biden's approach, stating, "My goal is to secure our southern border, it's my goal, it's my priority. For three months, I've talked about how this needs to be the number one priority for America, to secure our own border. But Joe Biden's priority is to get as many people as he can across the finish line so they can vote for them in the future."
The Senator went on to assert that Joe Biden himself is the real threat to democracy. He pointed out that an open border and the lack of a southern border compromise the sovereignty of the nation. Senator Marshall stated, "When we have an open border, when we have basically no southern border, we're not a sovereign nation anymore."
Furthermore, Senator Marshall highlighted President Biden's stance on law and order and its impact on democracy. He criticized the President's support for cashless bail and defunding the police, stating that these actions undermine the rule of law. The Senator firmly stated, "When we have a President that doesn't believe in law and order, when he believes in cashless bail, when he believes in defunding the police, and really just a lack of respect for the law, not applying the law equally, then that's an attack on our democracy."
Lastly, Senator Marshall expressed concerns about President Biden's attack on constitutional rights. He argued that the President's stance on the second amendment, freedom of speech, and freedom of religion undermines the foundations of democracy. The Senator concluded, "We don't have a democracy, we don't have a republic if we have a President that doesn't maintain our borders, respect the law, and respect our constitutional rights, he's the threat to democracy."
In conclusion, Senator Roger Marshall voiced his concerns about President Joe Biden's approach to immigration and his impact on American democracy. He condemned the parole of tens of thousands of immigrants, emphasized the need to secure the southern border, and criticized President Biden's stance on law and order and constitutional rights. The Senator's remarks highlight the ongoing debate surrounding immigration policy and its implications for the nation's security and democratic values.
