U.S. Senator Roger Marshall has formally requested an investigation by the Department of Homeland Security's Office of Inspector General (DHS OIG) into security lapses that nearly resulted in an assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump.
In a letter addressed to the DHS OIG, Senator Marshall urged the agency to utilize its resources to conduct a comprehensive review of the United States Secret Service (USSS) procedures and identify any operational failures. The incident reportedly left former President Trump "within centimeters of ending his life."
