U.S. Senator Roger Marshall has announced that the application period for the Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) will open on November 18, 2024, and remain open until March 31, 2025. LIEAP is a federally funded initiative designed to help eligible households manage their home energy costs by providing a one-time annual benefit.
"LIEAP is a great program that has helped thousands of Kansans with their winter heating costs," stated Senator Marshall. "Right now, many people are under enormous financial stress. My hope is that we can bring awareness to this financial aid and help lower families’ energy bills, keeping Kansans homes warm and safe as winter months can lead to dangerous conditions."
Individuals interested in applying can do so online or attend upcoming application assistance events across the state. The program's eligibility requirements are income-based, and the amount of assistance provided varies accordingly.
For more information about additional winter heating assistance and resources, individuals are encouraged to visit Senator Marshall’s website.
